Day 15 (May 27th)
So...I felt the effects of Sunday, both the hangover and the scale weight. It jumped up to 177.6! (this is 1lb heavier than when I started this challenge). Despite this being a little unnerving, I still feel leaner so I'm still rolling with the stored carbohydrate/salt hypothesis.
I still feel and look leaner, so I'm going to trust my judgement and not worry about the scales too much. My weight should go down in the next few days (hopefully back under 170).
We hosted again today - memorial day Game night. Despite the socializing I kept the Calories pretty under control, just under 2000. I ate and drank socially but I barely had anything in the early part of the day so I went into game having only consumed 500Kcals.
Day 16 (May 28th)
And...there is the drop, the scale dropped back down to 174.6 (an overnight drop of 3lbs), Maybe I do know what I'm talking about!
It's still not all the way down and I'm going into a hard deficit today (aiming for less than 1500Kcals) to push it further down.
Day 17 (May 29th)
And....there we go, my weight is back down to 171 (which is probably about right given the fat I would have gained over the weekend. I think the goal right now will be to get back into the 160's and see if I can sustain that over the weekend.
Today's Calories were decent (a touch over limit at 1870), however, due to packing (we are in the process of moving) I've terrible with my workouts (sum total of zero weights or cardio) and it will probably stay that way. My steps have also been shocking because I've barely left the apartment.
Day 18th (May 30th)
Stayed within the Calorie limit today and my steps were back up as I made sure I was going for regular walks outside.
Day 19 (May 31st)
Morning entry: Today is moving day number 1: moving boxes, signing leases, more packing. Should be an easy day to stay under budget. I'm nervous about tomorrow because I've just made plans to watch the (All English!) Champions league final - this will likely involve beer and wings so I'm going to have to be super careful with Calories if I don't want to screw up my final measurements.
Evening entry: Pretty successful for a social event. I kept my Calories at just over 2000. I'll take that every time.
Day 20 (June 1st)
Lots of up and down stairs doing the 'pre-move' moving. However, it was good exercise and I'm feeling pretty accomplished by the end of it.
Day 21 (June 2nd)
So today was moving day. Along with the movers we emptied our apartment (down 3 flights of stairs), filled up a trailer, and put all the contents in our new apartment (up 2 flights of stairs). My phone doesn't track stairs climbed but I would love to see that number.
In the end my back hurts, my knees hurt and I'm surrounded by boxes. Also, today I've eaten nothing but fast food (tacos for breakfast and pizza for dinner).
Final weight: 169.9. I finally dipped below the 170 mark again! This means that this week alone my weight dropped from 177.6 all the way down to 169.9 - it's crazy how much weight varies throughout a week.
That concludes my 21 day challenge. It's been very interesting to run this on myself. I certainly feel like I look better - there is no doubt about that.
Instead of jumping into my final results here, I've publish another whole article breaking down the results and you can find that here.
